Most famous Hollywood couples who break up make a big deal out of it, but Danny DeVito and his wife Rhea Perlman are not one of those couples.
Even though they are no longer married, Rhea says they will never get a divorce. Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman met in 1971, and just two weeks later, they moved in together. They got married in 1982, but it took them a while to get there.
Danny and Rhea did a lot together, and they got a lot done during their marriage. They were both in Matilda, worked together on the TV show Taxi, and even started their own production company called Jersey Films.
Their long-lasting marriage was always praised, but they broke up for good in 2018. They haven’t divorced yet, and they don’t plan to. Even though they are now single, they have no plans to meet anyone else. Instead, they want to focus on their kids, careers, and the friendship they have built over the last 50 years.
Rhea Perlman Says She Will Never Divorce Ex-Husband Danny DeVito, Though They Are No Longer Together
After 10 years apart and a very public breakup with Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman is very happy with her life.
Rhea talked about her famous Hollywood career and her marriage to the actor. In an interview with People, Perlman said, “I think it turned out for the best.” “Sometimes I wish we were still together because those were the glory days, but these are also glory days.”
Perlman and the “Terms of Endearment” actress got married in 1982. They have three children together: Lucy Chet, 39, Grace Fan, 37, and Jake Daniel, 34. Even though they broke up in 2012, they have never gotten a divorce and have no plans to do so.
Thursday, on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, she talked about why she would never divorce Danny DeVito. When a fan called in and asked why she and the actor got along so well, she told the truth.
Perlman said, “I don’t know why other people find it hard, but Danny and I have always loved each other, and we have three wonderful children together.” “We agree on nearly everything that matters.”
She went on, “We were together for 40 years, you know. 40 years is a long time, you might need to do something else.”
Cohen asked how often they talk, and Perlman replied, “A lot. We talked today.”
Perlman said that their relationship is “much better now that all the tense stuff is gone” compared to when they were still together.
She added, “But I’m not getting a divorce.” “No, no, no. For what? We do live on our own. We also see each other often.”
Is Danny DeVito Trying To Get Rhea Perlman Back After Their Break Up?
One tabloid says that DeVito really wants to get back together with Perlman.
‘New Idea’ says Even though Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman broke up in 2017, he still has feelings for her. After 35 years of marriage, the couple decided to go their separate ways. However, they both say that they have no plans to get a legal divorce. And people who know DeVito say that he really wants things to work out.
An insider says, “Danny is talking very seriously about making one last effort to make things work with Rhea.” Perlman has said that she still loves DeVito, so it’s quite possible. The Cheers actress said, “There are times when I wish we were still together.” And since they broke up in 2012 and got back together five months later, they might decide to end their breakup again.
Even though anything is possible, we don’t believe what this tabloid says. First of all, Danny DeVito’s friends are probably not giving this kind of personal information to tabloids. Also, in an interview last year, DeVito didn’t seem too upset about what he and Rhea Perlman had going on. DeVito told People, “We’re friends.” “We’re pleased. Everybody’s happy.”
And, since we’re talking about interviews, the outlet took Perlman’s comment about missing DeVito out of context. The full quote is as follows: “Sometimes I wish we were still together because those were the glory days, but these are also glory days.” Perlman said in the same interview that she and DeVito’s split “probably worked out for the best.” Both DeVito and Perlman seem to be happy with how their lives are going. Even though it’s clear that they still care about each other, there’s no reason to think that either of them is trying to go back in time.
