Rachel Sklar was born in California on March 1, 1989. She is one of Jordana Sklar and Kenneth Sklar’s three daughters. Wolford Swimmer was her grandfather. He served in the war and wrote a book with another person on the Monaghan murder mystery in Pennsylvania. She went to Purdue, Stevens Institute of Technology, and College of the Canyons after she graduated from Hart High School in 2007. In 2012, she got a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from California State University, Northridge.

Since she was a child, Sklar has been a model. She loved getting dressed up and being in front of the camera, so when she was 15, she signed with LA Model Management.
