According to a statement published on her Instagram Story on June 20, Gleycy Correia, who won the title of Miss United Continents Brazil in 2018, passed away at the age of 27.

After suffering from severe hemorrhage and a heart attack following her tonsillectomy surgery, the former Miss Brazil passed away on Monday, June 20, at a private facility. The tonsils are surgically removed as part of it. Correia, who is from Macae in southeast Brazil, was put into a coma in April and remained there for two months. The Forensic Medicine Institute of Macae will conduct an autopsy on her body to determine the exact cause of death. On Tuesday at 11:30 a.m., Correia was laid to rest.

The 27-year-old model and influencer was well for at least five days following the procedure, according to claims made by the family priest Lidiane Alves Oliviera, until suffering a hemorrhage while at home. Olivera declared, “She had tonsil removal surgery, and five days after returning home, she suffered a hemorrhage. She arrived at Unimed, suffered a heart collapse on April 4, and has been in a coma ever since with no neurological activity. She passed away today.”
