In 1987, Candi met Jimbo Fisher at ‘Samford University.’ He was the quarterback for his university squad and was named ‘Division III National Player of the Year’ the same year.
Candi and Fisher married on July 22, 1989, after a two-year engagement. She constantly stood behind her husband and attended his games. Her marriage to Fisher made her famous since she was photographed with her husband in the news. Trey and Ethan are the couple’s two sons. Trey, the older son, is playing football with his father.
Candi tutored middle and high school pupils in English. She’s also appeared on the covers of magazines including ‘Tallahassee Woman.’
Ethan, the couple’s youngest son, was diagnosed with Fanconi Anemia a month before his sixth birthday in 2010. Because it raises the risk of cancer, this rare, incurable, and inherited blood illness can cause bone marrow loss, as well as leukemia and tumors.
Patients with Fanconi Anemia have a 30-year life expectancy, which has grown in recent years. Candi and Jimbo Fisher founded ‘Kidz1stFund’ in response to the need for greater research into better treatments for this condition. This non-profit group raises funding for research while also raising awareness about the rare condition. They gave cash for Fanconi anemia research to the ‘University of Minnesota’ in June 2014.

Though their son was unaware of his illness, the Fisher family’s health condition was publicized thanks to a 2012 College Game Day movie called “Will to Fight.” Ethan learned about it from his peers and informed his parents. They explained without elaborating on prospective dangers. Despite their divorce, his parents continue to look after him jointly. At the ‘University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital,’ Ethan has quarterly blood testing and yearly bone marrow exams.
‘Kidz1stFund‘ has raised $2 million since 2011. Candi organizes and participates in fundraising activities on a regular basis as the chairwoman of the non-profit.
On June 11, 2015, the pair issued a joint statement announcing their mutual decision to separate after 22 years of marriage.
Candi Fisher hired a divorce attorney in October 2014 and moved out of Fisher’s house in April 2015, according to the divorce filings. Jimbo Fisher filed for divorce on July 31, 2015. According to the petition, they had given up hope of reconciliation and had been separated since May 2015.

Candi was accused of being unfaithful and having extramarital affairs. During the divorce process, the names of former football player Taylor Jacobs and former FSU tennis player Owen Long were referenced. The case moved at a breakneck pace. She was asked to give information about her communications with the two individuals in question, but the matter was closed before she could do so. On December 10, 2015, they divorced. She was awarded alimony of $3.4 million and child support of $4,500 per month.
Jimbo Fisher is one of the best-paid college coaches, with a 10-year contract worth $75 million per year with the Texas A&M Aggies. However, she lost out on alimony negotiations due to the divorce rumors.
Candi Fisher is currently based in Tallahassee, Florida.
