Meet Kasie Hunt’s Husband As She Delivers Her Second Child In Bathroom

Kasie Hunt, the renowned CNN anchor, and chief national affairs analyst, has become a mother for the second time. Hunt, 37, and her husband Matthew Mario Rivera welcomed their daughter, Grey Hunt Rivera, on March 1st.

Grey weighed 8 lbs., 4 oz. when she was born, but surprisingly, she was not born at the hospital. Instead, she was delivered at home in the bathroom, following 13 minutes of rapid labor, as reported by People.

Kasie Hunt Welcomes Second Baby at Home in the Bathroom

On March 3, Kasie made an Instagram post in which she shared the news of the birth of her second child. He wrote in the caption, “WELCOMING HERSELF TO THE WORLD: My husband @mattmrivera & I are thrilled to introduce our daughter, Grey Hunt Rivera—though really, she introduced herself. Grey was delivered by dad on the bathroom floor after 13 minutes of labor before we even had time to dial 911, and 24 hours before she was scheduled to arrive via C-section.”

“We are so thankful for the  @dcfireandems team who talked us through the incredibly intense moments before she took her first breaths, and who arrived within minutes to bring mom and baby safely to the hospital. Big brother Mars could not be more proud, and we couldn’t be more excited for life as a family of four. Special thanks to @people for telling the world the story we’ll be telling her for the rest of our lives.”

However, in October 2021, Hunt underwent a successful four-hour surgery to have a benign brain tumor removed.

Know About Matthew Mario Rivera, Kasie Hunt’s Husband

Rivera and Hunt first met while working at NBC News Washington, DC bureau. Rivera, who works as a journalist and producer, is also an adjunct professor at New York University.

After graduating from university, Matthew began his career in the entertainment industry as a video journalist. In 2004, he became a part of The Wall Street Journal team, and he has been devoted to his work ever since. As he worked with Moose Productions, he started to develop innovative videos for commercials.

In Shenandoah Woods, Virginia on May 6, 2017, Matthew and Kasie Hunt were married, in the presence of their family and friends. They welcomed their son, Mars Hunt Rivera, in 2019.
