Nancy Pelosi's Husband Received 5 Days Sentence For DUI!

According to the Napa County District Attorney’s Office, Paul Pelosi, the husband of U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was found guilty on Tuesday of misdemeanour DUI in California and received a five-day sentence.

Pelosi, 82, was detained on May 28 and later charged with driving while intoxicated and causing injury “based upon an automobile collision,” according to the district attorney. He was also charged with having a blood alcohol level over 0.08 percent.

Pelosi pleaded guilty to the latter charge, which was later dropped.

Due to good behaviour and having already completed two days of his sentence, Pelosi will only have to serve the remaining two days behind bars. In addition, he must complete three years of probation and pay $4,927 in victim compensation to cover medical expenses and lost wages.

According to the prosecution, he will also be restricted for a year to only operating a vehicle with an ignition interlock system that requires a breath sample before the engine starts.

In accordance with California law, Pelosi was not obligated to attend his sentencing until specifically ordered to do so by the judge, thus he chose not to.
