Night Sky, a new Prime Video sci-fi drama starring J.K. Simmons and Sissy Spacek, is now streaming worldwide. Oscar winners will play a couple who have discovered a portal to another planet in their backstory in the upcoming film You’ve heard the expression, “location, location, location” when it comes to real estate.
Daniel C. Connolly, who previously worked on Longmire and Into the Badlands, serves as Night Sky’s showrunner, while the show’s creator Holden Miller has never written a script for a television series.
Outer Range, another sci-fi series, and the return of The Boys for a third season are all part of Prime Video’s busy 2022 schedule, which includes the new programs. Nonetheless, we’re here to talk about Night Sky, so keep reading to find out everything you need to know.
May 20 is the date when Night Sky premieres on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories (including the US and UK). For those who want to catch up quickly, Prime Video has announced that all eight episodes of the new series will be accessible on May 20th.
In the words of Prime Video’s official synopsis:
“With an epic scope, Night Sky follows Irene and Franklin York as they explore an unexplained passageway in their garden that leads to an alien world. When an enigmatic young man enters their lives, the tranquil existence of the Yorks is quickly upended…… they find out that the enigmatic chamber, which they had thought they understood so well, is far more complex than they had anticipated.”
Certainly, Night Sky promises to be a fascinating show to see, which is always a good thing.

As well to his Oscar-winning performance, Simmons is best known for his portrayal of J. Jonah Jameson in the Spider-Man films starring Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland. But Simmons has been extremely busy in recent years, appearing in a slew of movies that have only aired on Prime Video, such as Invincible, Being the Ricardos, Goliath, and The Tomorrow War, among others.

Seeing Spacek is always a treat because she works so infrequently. She last appeared on screen in 2018 in the films The Old Man and the Gun, Homecoming, and Castle Rock. Bloodline, The Help, In the Bedroom, and Carrie are just a few of the many films and television appearances she’s had throughout the years.
Chai Hansen (The Newsreader), Kiah McKirnan (Mare of Easttown), Julieta Zylberberg (The Invisible Look), Rocio Hernández (La cada), and Adam Bartley (The Invisible Look) are also in the Night Sky cast (Longmire).
