Was Operation Highjump A Cover To Capture Nazi UFO Base?

Operation Highjump, or The United States Navy Antarctic Developments Program, 1946-1947, was an operation of the United States Navy. It was also called Task Force 68 and was a United States Navy operation. Its official name was The United States Navy Antarctic Developments Program, 1946–1947.

Officer in Charge of Task Force 68, Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd, Jr., USN (Ret), planned the operation, which was led by Rear Admiral Ethan Erik Larson, USN, Task Force 68’s Commanding Officer. Operation Highjump started on August 26, 1946, and was over by the end of February 1947. The Task Force 68 had 4,700 people, 13 ships, and 33 planes.

The stated main goal of Operation Highjump was to build the research base Little America IV in the Antarctic. However, time and again there have been rumors that Operation Highjump was a cover for an expedition to dig up flying saucers that aliens buried long ago under Antarctica’s ice shelf.

Did The US Navy fight UFOs During Operation Highjump That Were Protecting A Nazi Base In Antarctica?

UFO: Technology Secrets and the Third Reich is a German documentary that has caused a lot of debate on this topic. At the end of the hour-long film, it is suggested that the real goal of the expedition was to find a secret German UFO station that was still running in the Antarctic.

Also, a remarkable Russian documentary from 2006 has just been translated into English. It shows new information about a US Navy expedition to Antarctica in 1946/47.

Admiral Richard Byrd, a well-known polar explorer, was in charge of the naval expedition. He had been told to strengthen and expand American control over the most useful part of the Antarctic continent. Initial news reports were based on interviews with crew members who spoke to the press while passing through Chilean ports. They said that Byrd’s expedition ended after only eight weeks and that many people died.

Admiral Byrd didn’t try to deny the reports of many deaths. Instead, he told the press that Task Force 68 had met a new enemy that could fly from pole to pole at incredible speeds.

Admiral Byrd’s statements were printed in the Chilean press, but the US government never said that they were true. In fact, Byrd never talked to the press again about Operation Highjump, so researchers have had decades to try to figure out what really happened and why Byrd was kept quiet.

Was Operation Highjump A Cover To Capture Nazi UFO Base?

After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, the KGB released secret files that shed light on the mysterious Naval expedition to Antarctica led by Byrd. This report was ordered by Joseph Stalin and was about the mission. The intelligence report, which came from Soviet spies in the US, said that the US Navy had sent the military expedition to find and destroy a hidden Nazi base.

On the way, they ran into a strange UFO force that attacked the military expedition and destroyed many ships and planes. As the first press reports from Chile said, many people died during Operation Highjump. There is a chance that the report came about because the US fed false information to a known Soviet mole. However, it is more likely that the report describes the first known historical battle between US naval forces and an unknown UFO force stationed near Antarctica.

US Navy servicemen With Operation Highjump Reveal More Information About UFOs

In the Soviet intelligence report, two US Navy servicemen who worked on Operation Highjump said things that had never been made public before. Frank Joseph’s recent article in New Dawn gives a detailed look at the two eyewitness accounts, but only the second one was mentioned in the 2006 Russian documentary. John P. Szehwach, who worked as a radioman on the USS Brownson, said that UFOs came out of the ocean in a dramatic way. At 7:00 a.m. on January 17, 1947, Szehwach said:

My shipmates and I watched for a few minutes as bright lights rose quickly about 45 degrees into the sky from the port side of the pilothouse. We couldn’t tell what the lights were because our radar could only see in a straight line for 250 miles. [“The Real War of the Worlds”]

The Soviet report said that over the next few weeks, the UFOs flew close to the US naval flotilla. The US naval flotilla fired on the UFOs, and the UFOs shot back, killing people. Lieutenant John Sayerson, a pilot of a flying boat, said:

The thing shot straight up out of the water at a very high speed, as if it were being chased by the devil. It flew between the ship’s masts at such a high speed that the radio antenna moved back and forth in the wind. A Martin flying-boat that took off from the Currituck a few minutes later was hit by an unknown type of ray from the object. It crashed into the water near our ship almost immediately. About 10 miles away, the torpedo boat Maddox caught fire and started to sink. I was there when this thing that came out of the water attacked, and all I can say is that it was scary.

Did The Nazis Develop UFOs That Attacked US Naval Expedition During Project Highjump?

If Joseph is right, the US Navy may have changed official records to hide the fact that a USS Maddox was destroyed during Operation Highjump. Another possibility is that the 1947 Soviet report had false information that was put out by the US and sent to the Soviets by a Soviet spy who was known to the US intelligence community.

Even though this is possible, it is very unlikely because at the time of Operation Highjump, the US and USSR were still allies and both wanted to find and destroy any hidden Nazi bases in the South Atlantic. In the Soviet intelligence report, the UFOs had destructive technology that had not been made by the defeated Nazis, who had just been forced to flee to the South Atlantic a short time before.

It looks like the UFOs weren’t trying to destroy Task Force 68. Instead, they were trying to make it turn around. Were the UFOs there to protect the Nazis as they left Antarctica, or were they there to protect themselves?

Was the Stalin era report a lie that US intelligence gave to the Soviet government on purpose? The most likely answer is that the report about the Soviet era that was shown in the 2006 Russian documentary was mostly right.

This shows that Admiral Byrd’s first statement to the press was true: there was a new enemy that could fly from pole to pole at very high speeds. Most importantly, the UFO force had killed a lot of people in the US Navy, which couldn’t do anything to stop it. So apparently, the first known battle between the U.S. military and an unknown UFO fleet based near Antarctica happened in 1947, but most people didn’t know about it until now.
