Star Trek: Picard is an American TV show that was created by Akiva Goldsman, Michael Chabon, Kirsten Beyer, and Alex Kurtzman for the streaming service CBS All Access, which was later renamed Paramount+. It is the eighth Star Trek series and started airing in 2020 as part of Kurtzman’s expanded Star Trek Universe. The series is about the retired Starfleet Admiral Jean-Luc Picard. Each season focuses on a different part of the character and deals with issues that come up in the last part of a person’s life.
The third season of Picard is coming at warp speed, and it looks like the crew of The Next Generation is getting their own version of the old movies. The first trailer for Star Trek: Picard’s third and final season came out on Thursday
Here’ everything you need to know about Picard season 3 trailer are as much also about the Kirk, Spock, and Bones era, as it is about The Next Generation.
Picard Season 3 Trailer: What Does It Revealed
First, the trailer starts with Beverly Crusher, who is wearing a huge popped collar like Kirk did in “The Wrath of Khan.” Fans remember that Kirk wore this kind of “non-Starfleet civilian” clothing even in “The Search for Spock,” where he wore another popped collar. This and other parts from “The Search for Spock” seem to be the most important parts of the whole Picard season 3 trailer.
When Riker and Picard talk about “needing a ship,” they are probably in a bar, likely on Freecloud. But this seems to be a reference to the movie “The Search for Spock,” in which Bones tries to book a secret space flight. Then, when Riker decides to talk to Picard about getting their ship back, this whole season starts to feel like a remake of Search for Spock.
For one thing, the new USS Titan looks a lot like the classic USS Excelsior from that movie. The space dock also looks a lot like the space dock from Star Trek III, but with some small changes. This design, by ILM artists David Carson and Nilo Rodis-Jamero, has stood the test of time better than any other space station in the Star Wars universe. When Seven, Riker, and Picard get to the Titan’s bridge, the shots are almost the same as what we saw in Star Trek III’s Spacedock.
Picard Season 2 Recap
At the start of the season, a new group of Borg showed up at a rip in space-time. A signal is sent that asks for Admiral Jean-Luc Picard in particular. He takes the Star Gazer, with Rios as captain and Dr. Jurati on board, to the fissure. Also there are Seven, Raffi, and Elnor. A new Borg Queen gets on the Star Gazer and tries to take over the whole fleet. She doesn’t kill, just stuns people. The Queen tells Picard a phrase that only Picard’s mother would know. Seven begs Picard to destroy the ship before it joins the rest of their fleet. He tells the computer to destroy itself. Just before the ship blows up, Q brings the crew of the La Sirena back to Earth.
Picard has a nightmare in his chateau. The Federation, which is now known as the Confederation, has taken over the Alpha Quadrant and forced alien species to work for them. Q tells Picard that the test of humanity never ended. The crew of the La Sirena stops the Borg Queen from being put to death. She is their only chance to figure out how to go back in time and change the past. The Borg Queen tells them that in the year 2024, they must find a “Watcher.” During their escape, Elnor is killed.
In the middle of the season, the crew on 2024 Earth splits up. Picard asks for help from a young Guinan, played by Ito Aghayare. Rios gets hurt, and he meets Teresa, a doctor who runs a free clinic for illegal immigrants. On La Sirena, Jurati and the Borg Queen are getting closer, which could be dangerous. We meet Adam Soong, played by Brent Spiner, and Kore, who is his “daughter” but was made by genetic engineering . She has a disease that makes her immune, so she can’t leave their safe home. Q shows up in front of Soong and tells him that he can cure Kore if he stops a space launch.
