Recently, Riley claimed to have been physically assaulted on the campus of San Francisco State University while speaking about her opposition to the inclusion of transgender athletes in women’s sports. While not much is known about Barker, he has been very supportive of Gaines throughout her career. After Gaines said that she was attacked by shouting trans activists at an event where she spoke in favor of keeping women’s sports, Barker said that he talked to his wife a few times while she was locked in the room for about three hours. “She told me that a man in a dress hit her more than once. I was shaking. It made me so angry. “I feel sick that I can’t do anything about it,” Barker said. “She was being watched by the police, but a man in a dress still hit her.”

Meet Riley Gaines: An Accomplished Swimmer

Gaines has had an impressive career as a swimmer, having won several national and international medals. In 2019, she made her international debut at the FINA World Junior Swimming Championships in Budapest, Hungary, where she won a gold medal in the 100-meter freestyle and a bronze medal in the 50-meter freestyle.

Gaines started her freshman year at Stanford University in the fall of 2020. She joined the women’s swim team. Even though the COVID-19 pandemic made things hard, Gaines had a big effect on the Cardinal right away. With a time of 21.98 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle at her first college meet, she beat the Stanford mark. She also helped lead the team to a victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

The swimmer kept doing well in her first year, and she won the Pac-12 Conference title in the 50-yard freestyle, which helped Stanford win the conference title. She was also named Freshman of the Year for the Pac-12.
