Prayers to the family.”

Tabuchi played music for tips at a restaurant where Mary Jo was a customer. They got married in 1968, and he became a U.S. citizen. They moved to Kansas City, and Tabuchi performed at the Starlite Club. They had a son named Shoji John Tabuchi in 1974.
