Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello met for the first time in May 2014 at a dinner for the White House Correspondents’ Association. At the time, Vergara was engaged to Nick Loeb, who was her boyfriend at the time. Manganiello was caught on camera staring at the actress during the event.

He later told PEOPLE, “There was a picture taken at the White House Correspondents’ dinner where I was caught looking at Sofia Vergara’s butt.
