Giorgi was born in Macerata, Italy, to Jewish parents Claudia Gabriella Fullone and Sergio Giorgi, an Argentine of Italian descent who moved to Italy from La Plata. Her father was conscripted in 1982 in Argentina and fought against the British in the Falklands War. Her mother is a fashion designer. Now, her father coaches her full-time, and her mother makes the dresses she wears to tennis matches. She is Jewish and thought about moving to Israel in 2012 after her father started talking with the Israel Tennis Association (ITA) about how much it would cost for her to move there.
