Rachel Boston was born and raised in Tennessee’s Signal Mountain. At age 17, she moved to New York City to explore a career in acting. At 19, Boston drove to Los Angeles and started working on NBC’s award-winning show Our Generation (2002).
For her leading role as Mindy in the independent film The Pill (2011), Boston won the Stargazer Award for the most talented new actress at the Gen Art Film Festival in New York City, the Best Actress Award at the San Diego Film Festival, and the Emerging Artist Award at the Big Apple Film Festival. “The Pill,” which was filmed in Manhattan, also won the Gen Art Film Festival Audience Award.
She has worked with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel in the film (500) Days of Summer (2009), which was nominated for a Golden Globe®, debuted at the Sundance Film Festival and won an Independent Spirit Award for Best Screenplay. Boston played Ingrid Beauchamp in the TV series Witches of East End (2013). Before, Boston was in the USA series In Plain Sight (2008) and the CBS series The Ex List (2008). Grace, who is now 8 months old, used to hang out with her mom on the set of her Hallmark Channel project, Dating the Delaneys. Boston told PEOPLE that there has always been a special connection between how she is as a parent in real life and how she is on screen.
“I was on the show SEAL Team before I was on Dating the Delaneys. On the show, I was pregnant before I was pregnant in real life. So I went through that journey on TV—I had a baby girl, “she tells them. “Then, in the next season, I really did have a baby girl.”
Boston says that filming was even more special because her mom was there with baby Grace. This brought together three generations of women at her workplace in real life.
