Why Did Mark Wahlberg Split From His Wife?

Mark Wahlberg’s first experience with heartbreak was when he was very young. He fell in love with a woman and thought he had found the one. But when he went to jail, she turned him down and couldn’t wait for him to get out.

Wahlberg gave up on love because his heart was broken and he had the wrong idea of what love was. He didn’t want to believe for years that he could trust someone else with his heart.

He says, “My heart was broken, and I decided, ‘I’ll never give my heart to a girl again.'” His ideas about heart matters stayed the same for a long time because he didn’t know what the future held. But when he met Rhea Durham, everything changed. Wahlberg’s life was changed so much by Durham that he thinks she is to thank for everything good in his life. She made him think differently about women and respect them more.

How Did They Meet?

Wahlberg and Durham met when the “Date Night” actor was doing a press tour in New York. He asked her if she wanted to go with him, and she said yes. Then he asked her to go to St. Patrick’s Cathedral with him the next morning, and she said yes.

She didn’t know it at the time, but that was the first date of many. Wahlberg says that after their first date, he knew the model was the one for him. Before he could make things official with her, though, the actor had to make sure he was the right kind of man.

They were soon living together and having kids. But even though they hit it off right away and had clear chemistry, their relationship had some bumps. After dating for two years, they broke up soon after the birth of their first child, Ella.

They couldn’t stay apart for long, and soon after they got back together. Then, in 2006 and 2008, they had two more sons, Michael and Brendan.

In August 2010, when Durham was four months pregnant with their fourth child, the “Instant Family” star and the model finally got married in a Catholic ceremony in Beverly Hills.

Wahlberg said that they didn’t get married right away because Wahlberg wanted to be sure he was ready to make a commitment first. Because his parents split up when he was young, he was always wary of getting married.

In an interview in 2008, he said that no matter who the bride was, he was never ready to get married. At first, his commitment was to build a strong base before saying “I do,” no matter how long that took. He finally told her that it was time to take the big step.

“We’re ready. I’m ready. She’s been ready, but I think you know we both come from broken homes, and we want to succeed.”

Wahlberg may have thought that love was a long way off, but he finally found the woman of his dreams, who was even better than he had hoped. Today, he can’t stop going on and on about Durham. He gave her praise and said:

“I owe a lot to my wife. She has helped me become the man that I am and created a beautiful life for me and our children.”

He knew right away that she liked him for who he was and that he could trust her. Before he met her, he didn’t have any plans like that, and he never felt ready to start a family. She changed that for him.

He also said that when they had their own family, his feelings for Durham, who had always wanted to be a mother and wife, grew stronger. He admitted it:

“You need the right woman in your life and that feeling that you’re going to be together for a long time.”

A marriage that works this well takes a lot of work and respect for each other. And the star of “Lone Survivor” knows how to treat his wife with respect.

He said that he has been offered many roles with steamy s** scenes, but he turns them down because his wife doesn’t like them. Closer Weekly quotes what he said to WENN:

“If it has anything to do with me kissing somebody, my wife’s not gonna like it, so I’ll fight to get it cut out. Those are the more important issues. I usually try to choose my battles wisely.”

When you’ve been together as long as Wahlberg and Durham have, a relationship can get pretty boring, but the two have found ways to keep things interesting.

Durham loves it when her man dresses up as a handyman and fixes things around the house or acts like he is fixing things. Also, they usually go out on dates every Thursday.

They leave their house every Thursday afternoon to go to a movie or hang out. Then they’ll have dinner together and talk about what’s going on in their lives. Even though they enjoy being with each other, they still make sure to get home in time to put their babies to bed.

The couple’s favorite thing to do together is raised their children. “I think the most important thing is to always be a part of their life in every way.” Us Magazine says that he told Esquire.

Even though Wahlberg has had a long and successful career in Hollywood, he and Durham work hard to keep their kids grounded and thankful. The “Daddy’s Home” actor said he worries that his children’s privileged upbringing will make them miss out on the important things in life.

Wahlberg and Durham make sure to give their kids the tools they need to become great people so they don’t feel like they’re owed anything. “You shouldn’t give your kids everything without also teaching them how to be good people.” He thought.
