A match made in movie heaven! The relationship between Wyatt Russell and Meredith Hagner is a lot like a Hollywood fairytale, with a workplace romance and a dreamy wedding in Colorado.
They worked together on the 2016 movies Folk Hero and Funny Guy. Even though they didn’t play lovers in the movie, sparks flew off screen when they were together. In March of that year, Hagner gushed about her boyfriend at the time.
The Search Party actress wrote on Instagram to promote Russell’s role in Everybody Wants Some, “My boyfriend looking like a sexy 80s cancer-stick sucking dream on the poster for the new [Richard] Linklater movie makes me go #sxsw.”
Even though Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell‘s only son Wyatt doesn’t have a social media presence, the North Carolina native has shown fans glimpses of her relationship with him over the years.
Hagner said in December 2018 that she and Wyatt got engaged over Christmas. In April of that year, they had bought a house together in Sherman Oaks, California.
“The love of my life asked me to marry him. “He is the best guy in the world,” she wrote on Instagram next to a photo of the two of them hugging in a log cabin after she said yes. “It was a great surprise, and our closest family members were there. I would give the proposal 5 stars on yelp!!!!!”
Less than a year later, in September 2019, they got married at the Lodge 49 graduate’s parents’ house near Aspen, Colorado.
Kate Hudson, Wyatt’s older sister, said in November 2020 that the former hockey player and his wife were going to have their first child. (Hawn and her ex-husband Bill Hudson have a daughter, Kate Hudson, and a son, Oliver Hudson. The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star posted photos from Hagner’s baby shower on Instagram at the time and wrote, “Celebrating our next family member today.” “First for my brother Wy and @merediththeweasel. We couldn’t be happier and can’t wait!!!”
The actress from Horse Girl found out she was pregnant that same month.
“The cat’s out of the bag!” But still a very good bet (placenta). What a crazy gift it is to be able to carry this sweet life,” Hagner said on social media. “My husband/soulmate and I are so happy. Thanks to my closest friends and family in California for this magical, well-researched day.”
The couple kept their pregnancy pretty quiet, but in March 2021, a few weeks after they posed for Vogue as a couple, they announced that their son Buddy had been born.

After having a baby shower with her sister-in-laws Kate and Erinn Bartlett and mother-in-law Hawn, the Dummy star announced that she and the Overlord actor were going to have their first child together.
The Palm Springs actress wrote about her second trimester of pregnancy and said on social media that she and Wyatt spent a lot of that time on the road in their van.
Hagner posted a picture of her and the actor from 22 Jump Street on the road.
When they posed for Vogue before their son was born, the parents-to-be were all smiles.
Hagner posted on Instagram, “Right after these photos, we HAD A BABY, BABY,” confirming that her son was born. “Buddy Prine Russell came into the world two weeks after these pictures were taken. It has been nothing less than a miracle.”
