UFO enthusiasts, researchers, and, fans worldwide have always been on the lookout for images of the otherworldly vehicles which would prove their existence to the world. However, for some strange reason, most of the photographs available so far have been grainy (lacking details) on one hand, or, outright hoaxes on the other hand.
Let’s talk about the Sergio Loaiza UFO Pic. Is there a real UFO photo that’s better than the one you’re looking at? Undoubtedly. Unfortunately, it looks like those photos haven’t been released, declassified, or made available to the public in any other way yet. So long as that day doesn’t come, this one will have to do. There are many people who like it and a few who don’t, but the story is still interesting.
In 2021, it was 50 years since this picture was taken. In those 50 years, the story about the photo of Lake Cote has only grown.
For example, in 1999, a group of retired French officials, pilots, and officers put it on the cover of their COMETA report (Advanced Studies Committee). People have thought for a long time that this document is one of the most honest statements ever made about UFOs. The report sent to the French government was called “UFOs and the Department of Defense.” It said that the ETH, or Extra Terrestrial Hypothesis, was the most likely way to explain what’s really going on with these objects.
So, that’s it. And now the photo is back in the news, just in time for a close-up on its anniversary.
The photo was talked about in a recent New Yorker article called “How the Pentagon Started Taking UFOs Seriously.” In the article, Leslie Kean, a reporter for the New York Times, is quoted as saying, “This photograph of a UFO may be the most unusual one that government officials have ever released.”

A photo that was taken 50 years ago and said to show an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) has caused a bit of a stir on the internet. The black-and-white photo of an object that looks like a saucer has caught the attention of UFO fans and spread quickly on Twitter.
According to reports, Sergio Loaiza, an aerial photographer and mapmaker, took the picture 50 years ago on September 4, 1971, while he was flying 10,000 feet above the jungles of Costa Rica with a 100-pound camera. Near the Arenal Volcano, he was on a mission to survey land for the building of a hydroelectric project.
During his survey, Loaiza used his automated camera to take high-resolution black-and-white pictures every 20 seconds of the surrounding rainforest and the lake below. He did this from a height of 3,000 meters. When he looked at all of the pictures, he saw that on the left side of one of them, there was a strange-looking object that looked like a shiny metal disk flying between Loaiza’s Aero Commander F680 plane and the ground. When he saw the disk flying over the forest at 8:25 a.m., he was surprised. But he wasn’t sure what it was because he didn’t know much about it.

Sergio’s bosses at the National Geographic Institute told him and his colleagues not to talk about what they saw. But they did, and the image has since been studied and analyzed by experts, who all agree that the object in the picture looks real and wasn’t caused by trick photography or a double exposure.
After the UAP Media UFO research group added to the story, the claims about the UFO started to spread.
The National Geographic of Costa Rica was the owner of that picture. According to what they told her, Loaiza was doing the survey to find out how the hydroelectric project might affect the land and water nearby.
Esteban Carranza, a UFO fan from Costa Rica, got the original picture from his uncle in 2021 and gave a contact copy of it to the National Archives of Costa Rica in 2021. Recently, he wrote about the information on Twitter, “The picture has no reason to be on my desktop. Disclosure is a team effort, and this picture should be in everyone’s head.”
The UAP Media in the UK was interested in the news. They didn’t believe that it could be the most interesting picture of an unidentified flying object (UAP) to date. On their official website, the UAP media said that experts like Costa Rican UFO researcher Ricardo Vlchez, Dr. Richard Haines, and Dr. Jacques Vallee have looked at the photo over the years. After doing research, they came to the conclusion that the thing in the picture is real and not the result of double exposure or a deliberate lie.
