He tied the knot for the third time with former newscaster Amy Murphy in 2016.
In 1976, Carmen’s debut solo singles, inspired by Rachmaninoff, soared on the charts. “All by Myself,” from Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, hit number 2 in the US and number 12 in the UK, earning a gold disc. “Never Gonna Fall in Love Again,” based on Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2, reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the US Adult Contemporary Chart. These tracks were on his debut album, which went gold in 1977.
