Erik Spoelstra is married to a former cheerleader for the Miami Heat. Her name is Nikki Spoelstra, but she used to be known as Niki Sapp before she married the Miami coach.

Nikki Sapp was born March 22, 1987, in Florida. She’s half Puerto Rican. Nikki may be best known as the wife of two-time NBA champion coach Erik Spoelstra of the Miami Heat and as a former dancer for the team, but her life before she became famous is actually very interesting.

Nikki went to Miami International University of Art & Design. She got a Bachelor of Arts degree in fashion designing. Previously, she was the director of the famous Guy Hepner Contemporary Art Gallery in West Hollywood, California.

Nikki has her own podcast called The Know with Nikki Spo. According to her website, the goal of the podcast is to “highlight the stories of strong women.”

Nikki Sapp is highly active on Instagram and amassed a great fan following of 26.2K followers as of now. She keep posting pictures of her pregnancy photo shoots, about podcasts ,and also with her family.

How Did Erik And Nikki Meet?

Nikki first met coach Spo when she was a Heat dancer, a job she started when she was only 18. She was still a student at the time. It’s said that they started dating after Nikki left the team and was already a director at a Hollywood art gallery. Erik and Nikki got married in 2016. They have two boys, Dante, who was born in 2018 ,and Santiago, who was born in 2019. In June 2022, the couple announced that they were expecting their third child and they later disclosed the gender of child i.e. daughter.

Over the last few months, Erik Spoelstra and his family seem to have been going through a big problem, which they should hopefully be done with now.

Spoelstra’s wife, Nikki Sapp Spoelstra, said in July that their son Santiago had been diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma, a serious and fast-growing form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, after an unplanned intestinal surgery the day after his fourth birthday.

Cancer required months of chemotherapy at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, but Sapp said Santiago’s cancer had gone into remission. She showed a video of Santiago leaving the ward and getting ready to ring the bell to show that his treatment is over.
