New Zealand professional golfer Lydia Ko MNZM achieved a significant personal milestone on December 30, as she tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Jun Chung. The couple exchanged vows in a stunning ceremony held at the Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul, South Korea.
Following their wedding, the newlyweds enjoyed their honeymoon in New Zealand, which is also the country that Ko represents as a golfer. Here in this post, we’ll get to know who is Jun Chung, Ko’s husband, and how long they know each other.
According to The Korean Herald, Jun Chung is the youngest son of Hyundai Card Vice-Chairman Chung Tae-young. Chung earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Claremont McKenna College and received a UX certificate from Nielson Norman Group in 2019.
Jun Chung currently holds the position of Open Innovation Associate at Hyundai Cradle since February 2022. Prior to his current role, Chung gained experience in a variety of fields including UX design, strategy, business development, app development, data science, and research analysis through internships and part-time work. Lydia Ko, the No. 1-ranked woman professional golfer, has revealed that she met her husband Jun Chung in 2021, although it remains unclear how they first crossed paths. While various sources have suggested that they were dating for two years prior to their wedding, it was Ko who proposed to Chung in a unique golf-themed manner by writing “will you marry me” on golf balls.
Despite this, Chung surprised her with his own proposal during their engagement photoshoot, citing the number of days they had known each other as a key reason for his love and commitment. Chung was a supportive presence at the CME Group Tour Championship, cheering on Ko as she clinched the title, and Ko has credited him with changing her life and her game.
