Marine Johannes began her basketball journey at the age of 8 at the Pont-l’Évêque club, the same club as Nicolas Batum. At the age of 12, she joined the basketball club USO Mondeville, where she achieved considerable success. With her team, she won the U17 French League in 2011 and 2012, as well as the U17 French Cup in 2012. In 2013, they secured the Youth French League championship.
Professional Career:
Marine Johannes had her first professional experience with Mondeville during the 2011-12 season when she was just 17 years old. Her breakthrough year came in the 2015-16 season, where she averaged 14.2 points and 4.4 assists in 34 minutes. Following that season, she joined Bourges and made her debut in EuroLeague. In 2019, Marine signed a three-year contract with Lyon ASVEL, a club owned by Tony Parker. Her tenure began with success but was interrupted by COVID-19. During the 2020-21 season, she achieved a career-high of 38 points in a game against USK Praha. Johannes also earned a spot on the All-Euroleague 2nd team. However, her team shifted to EuroCup due to performance. The following season was challenging for both Lyon ASVEL and Johannes, as they faced setbacks in EuroCup and the French League.

Marine Johannes went undrafted in the 2017 WNBA draft but was signed by the New York Liberty in 2019.
