Notably, her performance of “Stand By Me” on the Late Show with David Letterman in 2015 became a viral hit. In 2018, she sued Nicki Minaj for copyright infringement over the unauthorized sampling of her song “Baby Can I Hold You.” The lawsuit concluded in January 2021 with a settlement of $450,000.
