Dana Marie Perino is an American political commentator and author who worked as the 26th White House Press Secretary from September 14, 2007, to January 20, 2009, under President George W. Bush. After Dee Dee Myers, she was the second woman to work as White House Press Secretary during the Clinton administration.

Talking about her private life, she has been married to Peter McMahon. McMahon is 66 years old and comes from Blackpool, a town in England. He has two kids from a previous marriage. Dana and Peter met in 1997 when they were the very last two people to board a flight from Denver to Chicago. When Dana Perino took a flight from Denver to Chicago, she wasn’t searching for love. But after sitting next to Peter McMahon on the plane, she liked the idea of starting a relationship. 

The couple got to sit next to each other and talked the whole way. Perino was interested in Peter, but she wasn’t sure if a relationship between the two would work. She said this in a Hudson Union Society interview: “Okay, Lord, I know I asked you to help me find someone, but he lives in England, is 18 years older than me, and has been married twice before. Did I mention that he is from England? This can’t be the case!”

After talking for 2 hours, Peter and Dana exchanged contact details. Shortly after that, the couple went on their first date to a movie theater in New Orleans.

When Did Peter McMahon And Dana Perino Get Married?

After a fast-paced romance, Peter proposed to her in front of Washington Cathedral. But Dana didn’t answer until the first anniversary of the day they met.

“Well, I didn’t really expect an answer at that time, since it was kind of a joke. On the first anniversary of our meeting, Dana gave me a letter. Inside it, she told me how so much she loved me, how much she’d enjoyed her time in the UK, and how much she’d enjoyed being with me. In the end, she said, “Yes, I will marry you.” It is love.”

When Peter and Dana got married in 1998, it was his third marriage. Dana said that the success of their relationship can be due to their mutual support of each other’s career life.

In August 2022, the couple celebrated their 25 years of togetherness. Dana also posted a photo on Instagram with her loving husband whom she met by chance and still they going strong like a power couple.
