He was put into COVID protocols on December 22 because he was having symptoms, and he was released from them on December 25. Sirianni’s first season as head coach ended with a 9-8 record and a wild card spot. In the wild card game, the Eagles lost 15–31 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who also lost the next week. Sirianni became the third Eagles head coach to make the playoffs in their first year in charge, joining Chip Kelly in 2013 and Ray Rhodes in 1995.
