Langford was selected by the Texas Rangers in the first round, as the fourth overall pick, in the 2023 MLB draft. He signed with the team on July 18, receiving an $8 million signing bonus. Langford began his professional career with the ACL Rangers in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League, where he batted .385 with 1 home run and 4 RBI in 3 games.
He was then promoted to the Hickory Crawdads in the High-A South Atlantic League on August 2, where he boasted impressive stats: hitting .333/.453/.644/1.097 with 5 home runs, 15 RBI, and 7 stolen bases over 24 games.
Subsequently, Langford moved up to the Frisco RoughRiders in the Double-A Texas League for the last 12 games of their season, where he continued his strong performance, batting .405/.519/.762/1.280 with 4 home runs, 10 RBI, and 1 stolen base.
