Cheryl Strayed is a well-known American writer and podcast host, who has made a name for herself through her literary works. However, she is not just a writer; she is also a wife and mother. She was married to Marco Littig in August 1988, a month before her 20th birthday. However, they divorced in 1995, right before she started hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, a journey that became the inspiration for her famous book, Wild.
Following her divorce, Cheryl changed her surname to Strayed, a name she chose for its symbolism and because she liked how it sounded with her first name. She subsequently married Brian Lindstrom in August 1999. In this article, we will take a closer look at Cheryl Strayed’s personal life, particularly her husband, Brian Lindstrom, and their two children.
Meet Cheryl Strayed’s Husband, Brian Lindstrom

Lindstrom is a graduate of Parkrose High School and has an MFA in screenwriting and film directing from Columbia University. He is known for producing award-winning documentaries that tackle social issues like human rights and drug addiction.
Brian has also co-directed the documentary ‘We Are Forbidden’ with Strayed, which focuses on the stigma surrounding menstruation in Nepal. Lindstrom has taught in the Northwest Film Center’s Young Filmmaker’s Program, using video as a tool of empowerment for at-risk youth.

Inside Brian Lindstrom And Cheryl Strayed’s Relationship
Cheryl Strayed and Brian Lindstrom met nine days after she completed the hike on the Pacific Crest Trail. They met through a common friend in Oregon. When Lindstrom found out that she had hiked the trail alone for about three months, he was “amazed by the news.” He had always wanted to do it, and because they were both interested in it, they became friends.
Cheryl and Brian got married four years later near where her hike finished. Cheryl is known for being a good writer, but Brian has been working as a director, producer, and writer. He has made award-winning documentaries that, among other things, focus on social problems like human rights and drug addiction. Some of his best-known works are the true crime documentaries “Alien Boy: The Life and Death of James Chasse” and “Finding Normal,” and the historical documentaries “Soldier of the Heart: The Judee Sill Story” and “Soldier of the Heart: The Story of Judee Sill.”
Lindstrom and his wife also made the movie “We Are Forbidden,” which is about the shame that comes with menstruation in Nepal. He has also made movies about the problems that young people in Portland and rural Oregon face. He has taught in the Young Filmmaker’s Program at the Northwest Film Center, where he helped “at-risk youth gain power through video.” He has won a number of awards, including Best Documentary at the 2016 Oregon Independent Film Festival for “Mothering Inside” and the 2016 Fellowship Award for artistic excellence and success in the media arts from the Regional Arts & Culture Council.

Know About Cheryl And Brian’s Children
Cheryl Strayed and Brian Lindstrom have two children, Carver and Bobbi. Their 18-year-old son, Carver, was named after the writer Raymond Carver, and their 17-year-old daughter, Bobbi, was named after Strayed’s mother. Bobbi played the role of a young Cheryl in the 2014 film ‘Wild,’ which stars Reese Witherspoon as adult Cheryl and Laura Dern as Bobbi, Cheryl’s mother.
Cheryl posts pictures of her kids and herself on social media, but she doesn’t say a lot about their lives. She tells them she loves them, though. She said this about how becoming a mother changed her: “The day my first child was born, life as I knew it stopped. It was a different world when he was there, and then it was a different world when my daughter was there. And I was someone else.”
