Even though Senator Ted Cruz was in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday night, Houston police were at his River Oaks home.
Members of the Houston police and fire departments were dispatched to Senator Ted Cruz’s residence in Houston on Tuesday evening. The Houston Police Department had responded to a “self-inflicted cutting” incident, according to police sources.
Officers arrived, investigated the scene, and then left after reporting that no crimes had been committed. It turned out that someone needed medical attention and was transferred to a nearby hospital as reported by KHOU. While the details of their injuries are still sketchy, authorities say they should be okay.
Eyewitness News was told by HPD that police responded to a call about a 14-year-old kid with self-inflicted stab wounds in the arms in the affluent River Oaks neighborhood. When ABC13 arrived, police were already in Cruz’s front yard.
There was no indication from police that someone related to Cruz had made the contact. The Texas Republican is a father of two young daughters. In light of this episode, it’s not obvious if Cruz will depart Washington.
The story is under development and there has been no indication or confirmation so far that it was Sen Cruz’s daughter who had cut herself.
Netizens’ Reaction To The News
Fans have been concerned about the safety of Sen. Cruz’s family members ever since word spread that someone had been harmed at his home, with many theorizing that it was his daughter.
Twitter user @SpiroAgnewGhost opined, “P.S. Everyone—this isn’t the time to dunk on the father. At all. This is just really sad if its his daughter. She apparently is okay and not badly hurt.” User BobiClaridge seemed to agree, “I totally agree. This child should be the focus of all our prayers. May she get the help she needs to realize her life is so valuable. This is what separates us from them. We can separate our politics and pray for this family to heal inspire of our differences.”
There was a lot of open disapproval of the father, but nobody wanted to take their frustrations out on the kid. User @dgrabs said, “There is absolutely no reason to be posting this. I hate Cruz with an undying passion but this doesn’t belong on here. Be better.”
User @FrankBrenner20, “expressed his views in a similar vein, “I don’t agree. It’s news. And if it’s being reported in the local media in Texas, there’s no reason why I can’t be on here. I would say this is not the time to make fun of Ted Cruz, or use this tragedy as a way to joke about his family.”

Ted Cruz’s Daughter Came Out
Caroline Cruz, Senator Ted Cruz’s 13-year-old daughter, made headlines this year after posting a TikTok video in which she revealed some family secrets.
“Because of my dad, I got a lot of new followers,” the young Cruz said in the video, which has since been taken down from the site. “I was thinking I could like pros and cons because some people are asking, but I don’t know.”
She then talked about some of the best parts of her life as the daughter of one of the most important conservatives in the country. Some of these were candy, mail-order gifts, and trips.
She told the public that she doesn’t always agree with what her father says. Caroline said, “A lot of people make snap judgments about me based on him, but I really don’t agree with most of his ideas.” She went on to say that the conservative patriarch often makes her feel stifled. He has even asked his media team to change the top she wore for the family Christmas card to make it look more conservative.
But the fact that she used pronouns and the word “bi” in her bio was one of the most interesting things about her brief TikTok fame. Sen. Cruz has been very against Transgender rights. He has even said that inclusive bathrooms are “PC nonsense that’s destroying America.” The way his daughter uses pronouns shows support for the Trans community and shows that there is hope for even the children of the most powerful conservatives.
LGTQNation reported, “But after the video went viral, users noticed that she also included her pronouns and described herself as ‘bi’ in the profile.”
In the story, “A screenshot of a comment thread shows someone asking if her bisexuality is “something [Ted Cruz] knows” and if she is comfortable talking about it.
“I haven’t told him yet, and to be honest, I’m a little nervous, but I don’t think he’d be upset.””
Even though she was only a teenager and didn’t seem to have told anyone about her sexuality, she was all of a sudden the topic of conversation on social media.
