Disappearance
Millard was staying at the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Baton Rouge and was last seen at Happy’s Irish Pub on February 22, four blocks away from the hotel. Around 11.30 pm, after being cut off by the bar, he left to return to his hotel room but never arrived. His phone and wallet were found not far from the hotel during the search for him. His debit card was used after he disappeared, and Amber revealed that the police have surveillance footage of someone using his card to withdraw money from an ATM.
Investigation
An autopsy is currently underway to determine the cause of death, and the police have confirmed that their investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have yet been made. “Additional information will be released as it becomes available,” the police said. Millard’s sudden disappearance and death have left his family and community in shock and mourning.

Derrick Perkins, 45, was arrested again by the Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD) on Monday “for his role in the improper disposal of Nathan Millard’s body.” He was first arrested on March 13. Perkins is being charged with illegally getting rid of dead bodies, obstructing justice, simple criminal property damage, and not getting help.
Police say that the 45-year-old was being held in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison because he had broken his probation, caused criminal damage to property, committed three counts of access device fraud, and used a car without permission. WAFB says that investigators told Millard’s family that he probably died of an accidental overdose and that other people tried to hide his body.
