Joseph Frank Bruce was born on April 28, 1972, and his stage name is Violent J. He is an American rapper, record producer, professional wrestler, and part of the hip-hop duo Insane Clown Posse.
He helped start the record label Psychopathic Records with fellow ICP rapper Shaggy 2 Dope (Joseph Utsler) and their former manager, Alex Abbiss. Bruce, along with Utsler, is a co-founder of the professional wrestling promotion Juggalo Championship Wrestling.

Who Was Violent J’s Girlfriend?
Violent J was dating Laney Chantal for one and a half years. Chantal, whose real name was Alaina Parkhurst, was a makeup and special effects artist who worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry and starred in the fifth season of the SyFy show “Face Off.” On Oct. 31, she died in Milford of an accidental overdose.
Chantal was born in Adrian, Michigan, and she grew up in Manitou Beach, which is close by. Her death notice says that she graduated from Hudson High School in 2007.

She moved to Los Angeles in 2008 to go to the Cinema Makeup School and study special effects makeup. One of the videos she worked on was Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” which won Video of the Year at MTV’s Video Music Awards in 2021. She also did work for Rob Zombie, the Smashing Pumpkins, Blink 182, Static X, Marshmello, Slipknot, and many other artists.
In 2014, Chantal married Jeordie White, who was known as Twiggy Ramirez when he played bass for Marilyn Manson. The couple later divorced but remained friends, her obit said.
Chantal and Violent J met at ICP’s Gathering of the Juggalos in 2021. Violent J’s real name is Joe Bruce. Last year, J told the News that they hit it off right away and that he went to Los Angeles to help her move her things back to Michigan.
Violent J Pays Tribute To His Beloved Girlfriend
In the touching post, he wrote, “Laney was my Angel Faced Miricle. I feel completely dead inside without her. I feel like 75 percent of what was good about my life right now was just ripped from me and stolen forever on Halloween night. She loved me more than every woman I’ve ever dated combined.”

“She was so incredibly talented, witty, funny, soft, warm, angelic, and amazing. The entire time we were together I felt a guilty ping constantly ringing because she was so special and I couldn’t fathom what she ever saw in me. She was adored by tens of thousands, her beauty with impeccable and her touch was beyond description.”
He ended a 300-word long note with, ” I’ve suddenly been slammed back down into the regular reality of life? I got to enjoy the time we had together which was probably the greatest period of my life, so I’ve got zero complaints. I’m forever greatful for having had the experience more than anything else. I love you Laney babe for ever and ever, always and forever…. VJ.”
