Priscilla Presley considered Elvis Presley “the love of her life,” yet she realized she had to stop their marriage at the age of 27. Priscilla had been with the King of Rock and Roll for nearly a decade, and while she never ceased loving him, she longed to get out and see the world. Priscilla, on the other hand, feels that leaving Elvis was the most difficult decision she has ever had to make.
How Did Elvis And Priscilla Meet?
At the age of 14, Priscilla had been invited to one of Elvis’ gatherings. She couldn’t believe he wanted her there, and she felt absolutely out of place as an Elvis fan.
Despite this, Priscilla claims in her memoir that Elvis couldn’t take his gaze away from her the entire night. He kept attempting to grab Priscilla’s attention as he started performing for his guests.
She recalls, “I glanced up and saw Elvis attempting to attract my attention.” “The less I responded, the more he began singing exclusively for me.” Elvis was attempting to impress me, and I couldn’t believe it.”
She continues, “I felt like Cinderella.”
Despite Priscilla’s belief that she would never see the famous rock star again, he continued to invite her to his gatherings. She was astounded that the world’s most famous man desired her. And the more she learned about Elvis, the more she fell in love with him.

Why Did Priscilla Presley And Elvis Presley Get Divorced?
Priscilla says that being Elvis’ lover was too demanding, despite her love for him. Priscilla’s mother wouldn’t let her have a career or a life of her own, which made her feel quite alienated. Elvis wanted Priscilla to drop everything for him, and it became taxing after a while.
“Obviously, I didn’t have my adolescent years as a normal girl, so I had to adjust,” she says on Loose Women. “So I just kind of went along with what he was doing.” She responds, “I mean, you lived his life.” “You went to the movies he requested. You listened to the same music he did, and you went to the same locations he did. I honestly didn’t have a life of my own. … As a result, I sort of lost myself.”
She says, “I didn’t divorce him because I didn’t love him.” “He was my life’s love, but I needed to learn about the world.”

After Their Divorce, Priscilla Presley And Elvis Presley Remained Close Friends
Even after they got divorced, she and Elvis stayed very close. Even more than when they were married, they started to love and understand each other more.
When Priscilla heard that Elvis had died, she also “wanted to die,” she says.
In her memoir, she says, “I locked myself in the bedroom and told everyone I wouldn’t talk to them because I wanted to be alone.” “I wanted to die, in fact. Love can fool you a lot. Even though my ex-husband and I had split up, Elvis was still an important part of my life. Over the years, we’d become good friends, admitting the mistakes we’d made in the past and just starting to laugh at our flaws.
She goes on to say, “We had a bond: We were closer and had more patience and understanding for each other than when we were married. We even talked about how… He was now gone.”
