She told RogerEbert.com that they quickly bonded over their shared passion for comedy and started writing sketches together. Rauch told Ebert that they started writing together because “we have very stuff in common” and “our favorite thing to do is make each other laugh.” Rauch also said that after they started working together, she and Biegel became a pair.
Melissa and Winston Rauch wrote “The Miss Education of Jenna Bush,” a comedy one-woman stage show, together for the first time in 2005. In the same year, they put it on at the New York International Fringe Festival and won the Overall Excellence Award for Outstanding Solo Show at the festival.
