Dallas Michael John Albert Green AKA Dallas Green is a Canadian musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer who was born on September 29, 1980.
He makes music under the name City and Colour. He is also known for his work with the post-hardcore band Alexisonfire as a singer, rhythm guitarist, and songwriter. Sometimes, his first full-length album came out in 2005. In 2006, it was certified platinum. Between Alexisonfire tours, City and Colour started playing in small, intimate venues.

In an interview with Vancouver Sun, Green said, “Leah’s the one who always tries to remind me to write love songs because, you know, she thinks I’m good at it but also because she knows people enjoy the love songs that I write,” Green says via phone. “So I came up with an idea and wrote If I Should Go Before You — a love so strong that it would outlast death.
He further added, “ I sang it [If I Should Go Before You] for her and she said, ‘Are you kidding? Does it have to be that sad?’ And I go, ‘No, it’s not sad! It’s beautiful!’ She goes, ‘Well, it’s beautiful but it’s really f—ing sad.’”

Green was born in St. Catharines, Ontario, on September 29, 1980. Green was named after Dallas Green, who managed the Philadelphia Phillies, baseball team. Green has said that he didn’t have a name at first. His mother was thinking of calling him Graham-Todd Green, but his father had bet on the Phillies to win the 1980 World Series. When the Phillies won, his parents decided to name him Dallas, after the manager of the Phillies.
