Dionne Warwick wed actor and drummer William David Elliott in 1966, and the couple split up in May of the next year. Then they got back together and remarried in Milan, Italy, in August of 1967. . Warwick gave birth to her first son, David Elliott, on January 18, 1969, in East Orange, New Jersey. Her second son, Damon Elliott, was born in 1973.

It was just too much for my husband to handle, so we decided it would be best to go our separate ways.”
Warwick’s husband, Elliott passed away on September 30, 1983. He was 49 years old.
Dionne Warwick thinks back on her marriage and says, “I married him, wanted a divorce, and married again. Can’t live without it. It was simple. I had feelings for him. It’s always better the second time around. At the first wedding, I wore a suit, and at the second, I wore a dress. Both were beautiful. There were a lot of things that led to us breaking up again, which I’m not going to talk about.”
