Gavin Christopher Newsom is an American politician and businessman who was born on October 10, 1967. He has been the 40th governor of California since January 1, 2019. He was the 49th lieutenant governor of California from 2011 to 2019 and the 42nd mayor of San Francisco from 2004 to 2011. He was a member of the Democratic Party.
During a recent interview on CNN’s “The Axe Files” podcast with David Axelrod, Newsom was asked about his first marriage. He said that his ex-wife Kimberly Guilfoyle “fell prey” to the culture at Fox News and became the right-wing figure she is today. After reading the interview, many people became interested in his private life, including his marriages. Read on to know everything about his current wife and the previous wife in detail.
Who Is Gavin Newsom’s Current Wife?
Gavin is currently married to Jennifer Lynn Siebel Newsom. She is an American documentary filmmaker and actress. She wrote, directed, and produced the film Miss Representation, which was shown for the first time at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival in the documentary competition. The movie looks at how the media hasn’t shown enough women in powerful positions. In her second movie, The Mask You Live In, which she wrote, produced, and directed, she looks at how American society sees men.
Inside Gavin And Jennifer’s Relationship
In October 2006, a mutual friend set her up on a blind date with Gavin Newsom at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. In January 2008, they said they were going to get married. Jennifer and Gavin got married at her parent’s ranch in Stevensville, Montana, in July of the same year. There are four kids in the Newsom family.
Recently, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, who is married to California’s Democratic governor Gavin Newsom, pushed for the state to give money to a group that she runs. Siebel Newsom is seen as a major reason why her husband, Gavin Newsom, was able to get $4.7 billion in funding for mental health last year. Part of the plan was to hire 10,000 school counselors.
Siebel Newsom, on the other hand, started a nonprofit called The Representation Project, which works on mental health issues. The group rents out “gender justice” films and lessons to thousands of public schools in every state. Since 2012, the group has made at least $1.5 million from fees.
Know About Gavin Newsom’s Ex-Wife: What Does He Say About Kimberly Guilfoyle?
Newsom married Kimberly Guilfoyle in December 2001. Guilfoyle was a prosecutor in San Francisco and now works as a legal commentator for Court TV, CNN, and MSNBC. They got married at Saint Ignatius Catholic Church on the campus of the University of San Francisco, where Guilfoyle had gone to law school. In the September 2004 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, the couple posed at the Getty Villa with the words “the New Kennedys” next to their picture. In January 2005, they both filed for divorce.
Donald Trump Jr., the oldest son of former President Donald Trump, is now engaged to Guilfoyle. After she left Fox News in June 2018, she helped Trump with his campaign.
California Governor Gavin Newsom claimed in a recent interview on CNN’s “The Axe Files” podcast that his ex-wife Kimberly Guilfoyle was a “different person” during their marriage but became a right-wing personality after “falling prey” to the culture at Fox News shortly after she started working there in 2006.
The comments Newsom made on the podcast hosted by former Obama senior advisor David Axelrod are notable because they go beyond the brief responses Newsom generally gives when asked about his ex-wife. After dating Donald Trump Jr., Guilfoyle and his father divorced in the early 2000s, and since then she has become a well-known Fox News personality and advisor to Trump Sr. Newsom didn’t hold back when pressed by Axelrod about why she seemed to have gone from being a progressive idealist to a conservative firebrand.
“She’s always had the attitude of a prosecutor, and that’s how she thinks about her job. She’s brilliant, but I think she got caught up in the atmosphere at Fox and made some poor decisions “To quote Newsom: “That’s not how she sees things at all; she might even say that she “discovered the light.” It’s clear that our perspectives are different.”
