This is the shocking moment when a controversial Brooklyn pastor grabbed a female churchgoer and shoved her off the pulpit during Sunday services.
Bishop Lamar Whitehead, who is 44 years old, was caught on video roughhousing a woman during a Sunday service at the Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries in Canarsie. The service was stopped by a woman in the congregation. Even though police were called, it doesn’t look like he’s been caught yet.
Here are the details of how the event unfolded and what is Pastor Whitehead’s net worth
Brooklyn Pastor Lamar Whitehead Grabs Woman By Her Neck And Shoves Her Off Pulpit
It’s not clear what started this, but NYPD sources say that there was a fight over someone filming Whitehead or the service and that it escalated into a physical fight. That matches up with a YouTube video that shows the whole thing.
Bishop Whitehead seems to be interrupted by someone shouting from the pulpit. He tells the congregation to let her speak, which leads to him asking her to come up.
He asks the woman if she wants to come up and speak for him, and then he starts telling the people there to praise Jesus while speaking in tongues. When the woman finally gets to the altar, he grabs her by the head and seems to push her out of the frame.
Whitehead tells someone to take her away and says he felt threatened, which seems to explain what he did. Then he goes on with the service as if nothing had happened.
What’s on everybody’s mind now is was the Pastor arrested?
Was Brooklyn Bishop Lamar Whitehead Arrested After He Manhandled Woman During Service?
After a sermon on Sunday, Brooklyn Bishop Lamor Whitehead grabbed a woman he thought posed a threat to his family and was handcuffed; however, around two hours later, authorities freed him.
“They lock me up in front of my children, in front of my wife, in front of my church,” Whitehead told the Daily News hours after his release. “They publicly humiliated me, and then, after two hours, they drop all the allegations and apologize to me.”
On Sunday, as Whitehead was speaking at Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministry on Remsen Avenue close to Avenue D in Canarsie, two women entered the building.
The women entered “the same manner it happened when my church got robbed,” according to Whitehead, who was held up at gunpoint during a sermon earlier this summer.

He recalled, “I was nearly finished with my preaching when these two young ladies came in and sat in the back.
“You want to come preach? Come on up here,” Whitehead was heard saying to one of the women, who was off-camera, during a social media Livestream of the services. “I’m gonna make you famous.”
The footage demonstrates that at least one of the women began screaming shortly after being called out.
The bishop then walked into the crowd while still off camera and yelled for someone to “get her out of here.”
He added that as he made his way back to the front of the church, he saw one of the women approaching him.
Whitehead can be seen in the video grabbing the woman by the back of her neck and pushing her away from the camera before shouting, “Grab her! Seize her!
Bishop Whitehead Was Released After Initial Processing
When a detective showed up at the church after Whitehead’s sermon, he informed him that he would be taken into custody and charged with assault.
Whitehead claimed, “They put me in cuffs, and when I told them I wasn’t getting in, they grabbed me, pulled me up, and threw me in the car.” “There were a lot of little kids in church that are frightened now — again. The little children in my church who look up to me witnessed me get arrested.
After being transported to the 69th Precinct stationhouse, Whitehead was processed by the police.
“All I want to do is preach God’s word, yet here I am in jail,” he lamented. I was handled like a criminal, they said.
Whitehead thinks that the Police Department’s “higher-ups” learned that he was being held.
He answered, “They dropped all the accusations and let me go. “You don’t have the right to detain me and put me in jail. I was placed in a cell with a person facing felony charges before being released. The situation won’t end here. They would never have done this if I were a Catholic priest or a rabbi.
Police stated that Whitehead and one of the ladies were brought into prison, although neither was immediately prosecuted.
