In the days following the discovery of his mother’s body, Sergio posted unusual videos on an Instagram account called “intplayerwithapassport,” which has since been deleted. In one of these videos, he made the peculiar claim that he believed his mother was “on vacation.”
As of the recent press release from the Maywood Police Department, Sergio was apprehended in San Diego upon re-entering the United States from Mexico. He is currently awaiting extradition to Maywood, Illinois, where he will face first-degree murder charges.
