Jones was President Barack Obama’s Special Advisor for Green Jobs in 2009, and he was also a distinguished visiting fellow at Princeton University. He started or helped start a number of non-profit groups, such as the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, Color of Change, and the Dream Corps. The Dream Corps is an accelerator for social justice. In February of 2022, Van Jones, who hosts CNN, and Noemi Zamacona, a friend of his, became parents to a daughter. The political commentator disclosed that the two individuals made the decision to become “conscious co-parents” and “joined forces” in order to receive a child together.
Jones told about his unusual plans for a family and said he hoped more people would follow suit in the future: “After the COVID lockdown, it became clear to me that I wanted another child. I found out that my friend Noemi wanted a baby as well. So, we agreed to work together and raise our children together. It’s an idea I hope more people will look into and think about.”
The Emmy winner also said he was “grateful” to have a daughter and confirmed that he and Zamacona will raise the child together: “This month, we brought a baby girl into the world. We will raise her together as co-parents. Our families are having a great time. I’m thankful, happy, and blessed.”
After the birth of his daughter, people who are close to Jones told that he is not dating Zamacona. The two are said to have a “modern arrangement” and call themselves a “team” that wants to raise a child together.
