La La Anthony reveals what the ‘very difficult’ Carmelo Anthony divorce taught her.
La La Anthony said that “stepping away” from Carmelo Anthony’s marriage taught her that she could “do anything.”
In a new interview with Charlamagne Tha God, La La said, “I believe moving away from that marriage was such an immensely difficult decision for me, but it helped me realize there’s nothing I can’t achieve.”
“Staying is less difficult. It’s more difficult to go away.”
After he allegedly cheated on her, the “Power” actress filed for divorce from the Lakers star in June 2021, though they had previously been apart for a few years. (He refuted the allegations.)
Kiyan, the former couple’s 15-year-old son, is their only child.
“It wasn’t the easiest option to move away from that and attempt to construct my own life while still maintaining my sanity and keeping things normal for my son, who had only known his mom and dad together,” she stated. “Now I’m thinking, if I can accomplish that, I can do anything.”
Carmelo, 37, and the former “La La’s Full Court Life” star, 39, are on “excellent” terms and, like other Hollywood couples who separate, are focusing on “coparenting” these days.
She stated, “We want to provide a good example for our son.” “With him, we have frank discussions. ‘You were built from love,’ we tell him. We’re still a family and do things as a unit. We both go to his games. We make every effort to keep things as normal as possible.”
