Amanda was born in Cincinnati but later moved to St. Cloud, Florida where she faced hearing difficulties and underwent surgeries in an attempt to address them. When she was still young, her family relocated to Colorado. Amanda had a passion for singing and her talent was acknowledged at Longmont High School where she graduated in 2006.
Sadly, she gradually lost her hearing due to Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, ultimately becoming completely deaf at 18 years old while she was studying vocal music education at Colorado State University, which led her to leave the university.
