Will Reichard Reflects On His Final Game In The Alabama
Alabama football bid farewell to one of its all-time greats on Monday night in Pasadena, California. Kicker Will Reichard, in his record-setting fifth season, played his final game during No. 4 Alabama’s intense 27-20 overtime loss to No. 1 Michigan in the Rose Bowl.
Reichard wrapped up his career with two successful kicks. He nailed a 50-yarder in the second quarter after Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe faced a third-down sack. Then, during what was supposed to secure Alabama’s victory, Reichard hit a 52-yard attempt, matching his career-long and giving Alabama a 20-13 lead.
After the game, in a subdued Alabama locker room, Reichard shared his thoughts on the conclusion of his time in Tuscaloosa. “It’s meant the world. Playing for Alabama, wearing that ‘A’ on my chest, you couldn’t ask for a better experience with the biggest brand in college football. It’s been an honor playing here for sure,” Reichard said.
