Angie Goff was born in Seoul, South Korea, and grew up there. She lived there for most of her childhood and teen years. During her first and second years at Seoul American High School, she played guard on the basketball team.
She moved to Herndon, Virginia, in 1995 and graduated from Herndon High School, where she was the president of her senior class. She then went to George Mason University and was in the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, where she got her Bachelor of Arts.

Goff’s first stint in television reporting was for a public-access television cable TV station, Torrance CitiCable, while she was residing in Los Angeles, California. Additionally, during her time in LA, she worked as a personal assistant to Mark Steines, the anchor for Entertainment Tonight. She then went on to work as a morning anchor and reporter for KMEG-TV, a CBS affiliate based in Sioux City, Iowa.
After that, from 2004 to 2007, she was employed by WIS-TV in Columbia, South Carolina, where she worked as a news anchor and reporter. It was during her time at the Columbia station that Goff received a regional Emmy Award.
