Adam Daniel Kinzinger, who was born on February 27, 1978, is an American politician who represents the 16th congressional district in Illinois.
The district includes the eastern part of Rockford, most of Rockford’s suburbs, and a large section of Chicago’s outlying suburbs. He belongs to the Republican Party. He’s also an Air National Guard lieutenant colonel.
Kinzinger was elected to Congress from the 11th district for the first time in 2010. After the 2010 census, most of his district was combined with the 16th, and Kinzinger moved to the 16th after beating the incumbent, Don Manzullo, in the Republican primary.
After President Donald Trump lost the 2020 presidential election, Kinzinger became known for his strong opposition to Trump’s claims of voter fraud and attempts to overturn the results. Kinzinger was one of 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Trump for inciting an uprising during his second impeachment.
