Christopher Loffredo Hayes is an American author, activist, TV news anchor, and political commentator. Hayes is the host of All In with Chris Hayes, a news and opinion show on MSNBC that airs every weekday. Hayes also runs a weekly podcast for MSNBC called Why Is This Happening? Hayes used to host a show on MSNBC on the weekends called “Up with Chris Hayes.”
Chris is the author of two books: Twilight of the Elites: America After Meritocracy, which came out in June 2012, and A Colony in a Nation, published in March 2017.

Kate graduated from Brown University in 2001 and the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in 2006. During Barack Obama’s presidency, from 2009 to 2011, she worked in the White House Counsel’s Office. Kate worked as a law clerk for Former Associate Justice John Paul Stevens at the Supreme Court of the United States from 2007 to 2008.

Both Kate A. Shaw and Chris Hayes graduated from Brown University in the same year, 2001, and it was there that the two of them first became familiar with one another. Chris Hayes studied philosophy and worked with the student theatre group while he was at Brown.
In 2007, Shaw and Hayes tied the knot. In an interview with IBT, he revealed that this was his first and only serious romantic relationship. Hayes told The International Business Times, “That relationship has shaped everything about who I am as a person.” “I often think about how stressful my job is and how the crazy mental effects of being on TV could easily drive a person crazy or turn them into a monster if they didn’t have a great relationship. Chris and Kate Shaw-Hayes have three children, and their names are Ryan Elizabeth Shaw-Hayes, David Emanuel Shaw-Hayes, and Anya Shaw-Hayes. The couple welcomed son Ryan in November 2011, son David in March 2014, and daughter Anya in January 2018.
