Inside Jessica And Dirk’s Relationship
Jessica met Dirk in 2010 at the Sports for Education Economic Development in Dallas. This is a Senegal-based organization that uses basketball as a way to teach young people about different things. They quickly got along and started dating. Olson was working at an art gallery in Dallas when Nowitzki met her. They first showed up in public at the 2011 ESPY Awards. When Dirk kissed her on stage, people had mixed feelings about his mixed-race relationship. Since then, they have never been apart.
Two years later, in 2012, Nowitzki and Olson tied the knot. But the couple had two separate ceremonies. One was at Dirk’s home in Germany, and the other was a traditional Kenyan wedding where Dirk was asked to pick his wife out of five veiled women as a way to show his love.
Nowitzki talked about the unique ceremony they had a few years ago, when they went all the way to Nanyuki, Kenya, for it. Nowitzki said in an interview, “It was great.” “They took away my wife. They brought out about five or six girls, all of whom were covered. So I had to find my wife as my first step. So I’m looking at how tall they are as I walk around. “I guess that’s part of the custom. If you get it wrong, you have to give the parents something like a goat. So I was fortunate. I smelled her to figure out which one she was. So, there I got lucky. But I’ll never forget what I learned from that.”

Nowitzki And Jessica Have Two Kids
Not long after they got married, they had their first child, a girl they named Malaika, in July 2013. Olson gave birth to their second child, a son named Max, two years later. Last but not least, Morris Nowitzki was born in 2016. Olson and Nowitzki are now a real family. When they were all born, Olson was pretty much a stay-at-home mom because Nowitzki was still in the NBA. But the age difference helped her keep track of everything. “The kids were so far apart in age that I was always home with someone who wasn’t in school or taking care of someone who was sick. It was kind of nice for me because I went into hibernation and really figured out how to be a mother.
