Thomas Kingston, a British financier who was married to Lady Gabriella has passed away at the age of 45. Kingston’s passing occurred within less than five years following his marriage to Lady Gabriella, a member of the royal family.
A statement released on Tuesday by Lady Gabriella Kingston, along with Martin and Jill Kingston, Joanna Connolly, and Emma Murray, conveyed the deepest sadness over Thomas’s death. They described him as a cherished husband, son, and brother, highlighting his exceptional nature and the positive impact he had on those around him. The family expressed shock at his sudden passing and requested privacy as they mourned his loss.
Kingston passed away in Gloucestershire on Sunday, prompting emergency services to respond to the scene shortly after 6 p.m. While the cause of death remains undetermined, authorities have confirmed that there are no suspicions of foul play or involvement of other parties.

Following his graduation from Bristol University with a bachelor’s degree in economic history, Kingston embarked on a career journey that initially led him to the Diplomatic Missions Unit of the United Kingdom’s Foreign Office, according to reports. Spending nearly three years in Baghdad, he served as a project officer for the Iraqi Institute of Peace, actively involved in mediating conflicts within Iraq and contributing to hostage release negotiations.

Subsequently, Kingston transitioned into the realm of finance, holding positions such as an equity analyst at Schroders, a prominent global asset management firm, and later assuming the role of managing director at Voltan Capital Management until April 2017. As per statements from the Palace, he has since been engaged in frontier market investment and holds a directorship at Devonport Capital.

Lady Gabriella, who shares a familial connection with King Charles as both are great-grandchildren of George V, had been in a relationship with Mr. Kingston for several years before he proposed to her during their time on the island of Sark in August 2018.
Their wedding took place in May 2019 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, with the ceremony commencing at noon. The historic venue, dating back to the 15th century, served as the backdrop for their union.
Their marriage occurred within a year of the high-profile weddings of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in May 2018 and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank in October of the same year. Among the guests were the late Queen and the late Duke of Edinburgh. Prince Harry also attended the ceremony.
