As a professional and amateur boxer, “Sugar” Shane Mosley has had a very successful career. He has won the WBC and WBA welterweight titles, the IBF lightweight title, the WBA, WBC, and The Ring magazine light middleweight crowns, in addition to the WBC and WBA welterweight titles. In both 2000 and 2001, The Ring named Mosley the best boxer overall, pound for pound. Antonio Margarito, Fernando Vargas, and Oscar De La Hoya have all been defeated by him.
Mosley was claiming that his ex-wife Jin and he were never lawfully wed, and he asked for the return of the $6 million she received in the settlement.
Although Shane claimed she was already married when the two got hitched in 2002, their union was never legally recognized. Jin’s attorney claims that she never wed anyone else while she was married to Mosley, while Shane asserts that there was a four-year overlap between her marriage to Sanjay Dwivedi and her divorce from Mosley.
In addition to noting that Shane had not truly established that Jin C. Sheehan, who married Dwivedi, is the same person as Jin C. Mosley, the judge in California informed Mosley that an overturning of the settlement may be unlikely given the period of time that has gone. Mosley traveled to New York to urge a court to open a private divorce file between Sanjay Dwivedi and his ex-wife, Jin Mosley or simply some other Jin.
Mosley apparently learned of this knowledge in July after noticing that she was caring for a fifth child about whom he was unaware. Jin and Shane had three children together, and he was aware that she had another child before they were married.
The Mosleys got married in Las Vegas in 2002, got divorced in 2011, and Jin Mosley received $6 million in assets, including a six-bedroom property in LaVerne, $600,000 in spousal support, and stock funds. The couple had split in 2008 after their marriage.

Mosley claims that his ex “married” him for his money and used his three pregnancies to ensure that it would stay with her. In a California court, he argued that the divorce judgment ought to be annulled as well because his marriage was illegal.

The “good news” in this whole situation is that Sugar Shane will get to keep all video and DVD proceeds from his most recent fights with Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, and Antonio Margarito, which took place after Jin filed for divorce. This is due to California’s community property law, which states that the “economic community” ends when the relationship ends.
Fortunately for Sugar, though, his significant matchup with Manny Pacquiao took place after the split, leaving him to keep all $3 million for himself.
