Aileen Mercedes Cannon is a Colombian-born American lawyer and jurist who serves as a United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida. She was nominated by President Donald Trump and approved by the United States Senate in 2020.

Aileen Mercedes Cannon was born in the Colombian city of Cali in 1981. Her mother left Cuba when Fidel Castro was in power. She went to Miami, Florida’s Ransom Everglades School, a private high school.
Cannon got a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University in 2003. From 2003 to 2005, he worked as a paralegal for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division. She then went to the University of Michigan Law School, where she was an articles editor for the University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform. She got her Juris Doctor magna cum laude and membership in the Order of the Coif in 2007.
