The hitmaker opened up about the roller coaster feelings she felt when navigating a bad relationship or rebounding from a split in a recent interview with Big Machine Label Group (April 18).
Following her divorce from Michael Ray, the Kentucky native wrote “29:Written In Stone,” a diary-style collection that encapsulates the anguish and challenges she endured while piecing her broken heart back together.
Pearce’s candor in songs like “Every Little Thing,” “Should’ve Know Better,” “What He Didn’t Do,” and “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” alongside Ashley McBryde earned her accolades from fans. Many people were moved by the candid lyrics, which served as a reminder that wishy-washy thoughts are normal when it comes to figuring out your worth.

Carly Pearce shared a sweet birthday greeting for her boyfriend, Riley King, a Nashville Realtor and former MLB player, just hours before kicking off Kenny Chesney’s Here And Now Tour at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
On Saturday evening (April 23), the country singer and Kentucky native took to social media to send King a sweet birthday message.
“Wishing my sweetie a happy birthday!” “You’ve made the last year so amazing for me,” Pearce wrote, before adding, “I hope this is your finest year yet.”
Pearce is wrapped in King’s arms in the first of two photos in the two-part sequence. “Swipe right for my favorite photo of you,” Pearce said, referring to a photo of King with the “What He Didn’t Do” singer’s canines, Johnny and June.
“Thank you so much, babe!! I really appreciate it!!” In the comments, King expressed his gratitude to Pearce for the heartfelt birthday message.
In the comments section of the article, Lady A’s Charles Kelley compared the couple to “Ken and Barbie,” while Lindsay Ell also left a note for King, writing, “Happy birthday @rileyking3!! “You are adored!”
Just one day before her 33rd birthday, King spent his birthday in Florida by Pearce’s side, showing his support for the country singer during the first show of one of the biggest tours Pearce has ever been a part of.

During the event, King took to Instagram stories to share a video of his girlfriend singing “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” the closing song in her set, on the vast stadium stage.
