Raskin, D-Md., said in a statement, “After several days of tests, I have been diagnosed with Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma, which is a serious but curable form of cancer.” He also said that he will go through “a course of chemo-immunotherapy on an outpatient basis.”
Raskin said he expects to be able to keep working while he is getting treatment, but his doctors told him to be careful and try to avoid unnecessary exposure to COVID-19, the flu, or any other viruses. The worry is that chemotherapy can make the body’s immune system more sensitive to viruses.
