Initially, Grasso told the officer that the vehicle in question belonged to his wife but that he had been driving it on October 1. He claimed that the car had sustained damage while it was parked outside a local restaurant. Grasso mentioned that he was in the process of obtaining surveillance footage from the restaurant to support his claim and that he had been advised by his lawyers not to contact the police.

Furthermore, Grasso mentioned an incident involving a man at the restaurant where his car had been damaged. He expressed concerns that someone might be deliberately targeting him or tampering with his car while it was parked at various locations, stating that he had experienced being followed frequently in recent days.
